Joining 3DWarehouse

If we're going to work together on a project, we need a place to meet and store our pieces/parts.

Google folk were way ahead of us on this need, and that's what 3DWarehouse gves us, another free web based service.

You don't need a 3DWarehouse account just to use Sketchup, or Google Earth, but you will need to register for a free 3DWarehouse account if you want to share your 3D models, and especially if you want to contribute to the Steamboat3D project.

If you already have a Google account, this will be very familiar to you.

WAIT - If you are a young person (under 18 years of age) - Get your folks (you know, the ADULT in your life!) to help you set up this account, because we want you to BE SAFE ON THE INTERNET !

Here's the Google Earth 3D Warehouse registration page

Getting Around in the Warehouse

Spend ten minutes or so just browsing the Warehouse.  It's BIG, and growing every day. This is truly a global community.

When new modelers get started, they upload small, simple models like this:

Then the next step will be models with photo textures, such as:

And, after some experience, you'll be uploading stuff like:
